Proper cooking of red beans is important for your health so make sure to follow the steps.

  • Soak the kidney beans for 5 to 6 hours.
  • After soaking, rinse and wash with tap water.
  • Now place in a deep pan and fill with water. If you are taking 2 Cups beans then add 4 cup water to boil properly.
  • For 500 gms soaked rajma: add salt and baking soda.
  • Cover for 45 minutes on low medium heat. .
  • Check the softness otherwise give it more time to get soft and tender.

    Yes, you can use but fresh is more recommended as compared to canned. But if you are using canned beans then simply wash it and keep it in a pan. Add some water and boil it for few minutes then add little oil and mix it well. Now you can follow the same procedure to make the salad.
