The Restaurant Got Started In Auburn Alabama

Wondering how this restaurant even got its start? Stacy Brown was a stay-at-home mom living in Auburn, Alabama, who had three children under the age of six. After she got divorced, she knew it was time to do something different. And with so much on her plate already, she wanted to find a way to earn an income while taking care of her little ones. Not always an easy feat, but it sounds like Brown was determined. She told NPR that she started questioning herself: “What am I an expert on? What have I perfected over these last years as a stay-at-home mom that people would value? Well, I knew that I was a good cook. And I happened to be obsessed with chicken salad.”

Not a bad thing to be obsessed with, in our opinion. So, the stay-at-home mom decided to start making chicken salad in her own Alabama kitchen, experimenting with recipes to determine which chicken salad recipe would be the biggest hit. It took her a while of making different chicken salads, feeding them to family and friends, and asking for their opinions, but she finally found a recipe that she knew she wanted to share on a wider scale. Though it all got started in Auburn, Brown’s chicken salad legacy has now spread all over the country.

Chicken salad is a Southern tradition and now its easier than ever for chicken salad lovers to enjoy it thanks to Chicken Salad Chick. With 12 different chicken salads to choose from on their regular menu, Chicken Salad Chick has a Southern-style chicken salad flavor for everyone.

The companys first location was started in Alabam near Auburn University, and now there are various Chicken Salad Chick restaurants all over the Southeast.

The Chicken Salad Chick concept has loyal guests coming back for more than just chicken salad. Their signature sandwiches, fresh side salads, sides, gourmet soups, pimento cheese, egg salad, and delicious desserts are on my list to try. Not to mention the high-quality meals offered by their full catering service! Im trying to sample all of the original chicken salad flavors on the Chicken Salad Chick menu first and share my thoughts.

From Chicken Salad Chicks robust menu you can order a variety of options and sizes of their chicken salad flavors. Choose from scoops, sandwiches, or Quick Chick to-go packages that are a perfect fit for feeding larger groups. Each Chicken Salad Chick location makes between 240 and 400 pounds of chicken salad per day. Thats a lot of chicken!

It all came to a crossroads when she received a phone call from a man named Stan who was working for the Lee County Health Department. He had bad news for her: It was illegal to run a food service business out of her own home. That probably wasn’t the most pleasant call she’s ever received, as it effectively shut her business down. We found Chicken Salad Chick before and loved it and were excited to come back! This time we tried the Cranberry Kelli chicken salad on croissant with pasta salad, Lauryns Lemon Basil chicken salad on croissant with broccoli salad, and Olivias Old South chicken saladon croissant with loaded potato soup.
