If youre making extra or not eating the entire batch right away, you can store the meat, romaine lettuce and vegetables, cheese and salad dressing in separate containers in the fridge.

When youre ready to eat, simply assemble your Big Mac Salad and enjoy.

You can also prepare and freeze both the ground beef burger patty mixture and Big Mac sauce for a later date. Sadly, we cant say the same for the salad lettuce doesnt do too well frozen!

  • green onions, chopped 2.4g net carbs for 2 whole green onions

How to Make a Keto Salad! High Fat Cobb Salad Recipe Video

There is something else that is a little different about this Cobb, but it doesnt have anything to do with it being keto. Its the kind of cheese thats used.

Traditional Cobbs use blue cheese or Roquefort cheese, but this keto salad recipe calls for feta cheese.

Blue cheese is a bit of a love it or hate it kind of cheese. Feta, on the other hand, has a much milder flavor and tastes just as good in Cobb salad.

However, if you love blue cheese or Roquefort cheese, feel free to use it instead of feta cheese. Its actually a bit lower in carbs than feta cheese, so it wont make this recipe any less keto.

What Is A Vinaigrette

Every salad dressing has the same components: fat, acid, sweetener, and something for flavor. Vinaigrettes are oil based dressings that are blended until smooth. Salad dressings that are creamy, like my zero carb ranch dressing, often use greek yogurt, sour cream, or mayonnaise for their base. These bases also double as the fat for the dressing. The acid in vinaigrettes typically come by way of vinegars or citrusjuice. Sweeteners like maple syrup, honey, dates, monkfruit, or fresh fruit can be used to balance the acidity in a clean manner. Lastly, things like garlic and fresh herbs are used for flavor. The ingredients are all blended together until the oil has emulsified.

Salad Recipe Ingredients I Used

I just used a few simple spices to make the taco meat. I used 90% lean ground beef and my homemade taco seasoning using chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, onion powder and sweetener.

I used leaner ground beef because I didnt want a lot grease on the lettuce. You could also make this ground turkey or ground chicken if you wanted.

I did not use store bought taco seasoning mix because it can have quite a few carbs and a lot of artificial ingredients. But if you have a good low carb mix you can certainly use that.

For the whole salad I used romaine lettuce, red onion, avocado, sharp cheddar cheese and fresh tomatoes. I used Roma tomatoes but you can also use cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes.

The dressing was my homemade dairy free ranch which was perfect for this salad.

Can Mediterranean Salad Be Frozen

Unfortunately, due to the high water content of cucumbers, freezing this salad can be a tricky endeavor. Typically freezing cucumbers and tomatoes leads to significant change in texture. This change would be undesirable in this crunchy fresh salad. So, I would recommend keeping this salad fresh by storing it in fridge. It should stay tasty for at least three days.

How To Make The Keto Taco Salad

Step 1: To make the taco meat, get out a large skillet and heat to medium high heat.

Step 2: Add the ground beef and break up with a wood spoon or spatula. Turn down the heat to medium.. Mix the spices and sweetener together in a little bowl and then sprinkle over the ground beef. Brown ground beef for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.

Step 3: In the meantime chop the lettuce and vegetables. Fill a large salad bowl with lettuce and set the toppings to the side.

Step 4: Once the meat has browned and cooled for a few minutes, spoon the seasoned beef onto the bed of lettuce then add the rest of the toppings. If you dont want to use all of the ground beef your can store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Top with your favorite taco salad dressing though I highly recommend my dairy free ranch dressing. It only has 0.3g net carb per tablespoon.

I also have an avocado salad dressing that would work great too.However you could probably mix up the ingredients and not even need dressing.
