The one thing to remember when you make this dressing is make sure to use boiling water.

Ive never been a fan of soaking my cashews. I know so many recipes call for it, but it just seems like an unnecessary extra step. To avoid that in this recipe, we use boiling water to combine all our ingredients, and after it rests for two minutes, any blender will be able to handle it.

This is a small-batch recipe so I recommend using a small blender, but really you can use anything!

How To Make Green Goddess Salad Dressing

  • Gather the freshest ingredients you can find. It is true, fresh is best and handfuls of basil and parsley with that PUNCH of lemon and apple cider vinegar really give the dressing vibrant colors and flavors. Remove the skins of the garlic and onion and slice the avocado in half to scoop out the meat.
  • Then blend the ingredients in the food processor or lightly in a blender until you get the right consistency. For a thicker consistency like shown in the image blend a bit less until it looks how you like it. Season to taste with garlic salt and pepper or just salt and pepper then transfer the blended ingredients in the bowl or salad dressing container you wish to serve it in!

    Have you tried Trader Joes Green Goddess Dressing? It is one of my favorite items at TJs. Its easy to make, versatile and filled with healthy ingredients. We love it on salads or paired with vegetables as a light and creamy dip!

    What is Green Goddess Dressing?

    Green Goddess Dressing, named for its green color, became popular in California in the early 1920s in San Fransisco. Green Goddess dressing is traditionally made with anchovies, but anchovies arent listed as an ingredient on the Trader Joes label. This dressing is sure to steal the show at your family meal and is delicious as both a topping or a dip!

    Tte De Moine Rosettes Semisoft Cheese

    French for monks head, this cheese is from a French-speaking area in Switzerland that borders France. Matt mentioned that the cheese has probably been around for maybe 1,000 years , and its back for a second year at TJs. The cows milk cheese is aged on spruce planks, and is traditionally shaved with a special tool into rosettes for serving, which is how its packaged at TJs. The semi-hard cheese has a pungent aroma and an intense, fruity flavor. Its almost like its melting in your mouth, and, adds Tara, it looks stunning.

    My Favorite Trader Joe’s Salad Dressings

    One of my Rules of Thumb is to stick with dressings less than 50 calories per serving . Why? I know that a salad dressing isnt going to fill me up. By sticking with low-calorie dressing, I can still get the taste and added flavor in my salad without wasting hundreds of calories on something that isnt going to leave me feeling full after my meal. Id rather invest those calories in nutritionally dense fats and proteins. Wouldnt you?

    So how do I do it? Well, salad dressings can be deceiving! “Oil and vinegar” or clear dressings like vinaigrettes can seem like the best option, but they easily add 200-300 calories to salads. Personally, I’d like to spend those calories elsewhere! And Im sure you would too. You can spend your time looking at and comparing the nutritional panels of various options or check out my recommendations below.

    One important thing to note is serving size. Make sure you actually measure out the salad dressing, at least for the first couple of times. It can be very easy to splash your dressing on top and not realise how much youve really added. Once youve got a good idea of what 2 tablespoons looks like, you can be a bit more relaxed but dont go overboard!

    Trader Joes Red Quinoa Salad Recipe

    RAW VEGAN CHALLENGE Day 1 » Jerk Chicken recipe Kale salad w/ Trader Joe’s Dressing
    • 12ozblack beans,canned
    • 2cupssweet corn
    • 1/2cupchopped onions
    • 1/2tspblack pepper and salt
    • 2cupsvegetable/chicken broth,or water

    For the lime cilantro ranch dressing

    • 1cupfreshly chopped cilantro
    • 2tbspsqueezed lime juice
    • In an electric blender, add chopped cilantro, lime juice, ranch powder, and jalapeno
    • Once blended, drizzle in olive oil
    • Blend again until the mixture turns smooth
    • Pour it to a bowl and chill until serving time

    For the red quinoa bowl

    • First off, thoroughly rinse the quinoa and transfer it into a mesh strainer
    • In a medium-sized saucepan, add one cup of quinoa along with the broth
    • Let the mixture simmer for about 12-15 minutes
    • Once it comes to a boil, turn off the flame and set it aside to cool down
    • Remove the lid and fluff the quinoa with a wooden fork
    • Make sure quinoa has completely absorbed the broth
    • In a large mixing bowl, add the cherry tomatoes, corn, avocado, onions and black beans
    • Now, add the lime cilantro ranch dressing and sprinkle with salt and black pepper according to taste
    • Toss everything and set aside
    • Dish out the quinoa in serving bowls
    • Top it with the veggies
    • Lastly, garnish with lots of lime cilantro dressing
    • Voila! Its ready to serve!

    This rave review is coming from a girl who rarely purchases bottled dressing, and who isnt even vegan .     So What Is In The Trader Joes Spicy Cashew Butter Dressing

    I did a quick look at the ingredients list of this Trader Joes item, and as you can see from my V blurry photo, it had all your usual suspects.

    The ingredients breakdown was: water, cashew butter, lime juice, ginger puree, organic coconut aminos, cilantro, red chili paste, maple syrup, sea salt, xantham gum and crushed red pepper.

    All of this seemed more than manageable, with a few adjustments to make the ingredients more approachable. My recipe uses a few ingredient swaps that are easier to find in grocery stores, but other than that it was all about find the right ratios to make the perfect, creamy salad dressing.

    A delicious WFPB take on the Trader Joes Southwest Salad dressing.

    Ingredients

    1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

    Juice of 1/2 a medium lime, or more to taste

    1/2 tsp maple syrup

    1/4 tsp smoked paprika

    Salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste

    1. In a small mixing bowl add all ingredients and whisk to combine. Taste and adjust any seasoning to your liking.

    NOTES:You can sub out the Cashew Cream for packaged vegan sour cream or plain vegan yogurt. To make Cashew Cream, simply add 1 cup raw cashews , 1/2 cup water, 3 to 4 tbsp lemon juice, and salt to taste in a high speed blender and blend on high until smooth .
