Chicken Salad Chick Relocates To Larger Location With Drive
Chicken Salad Chick is celebrating its relocated restaurant in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
After over five years of operating in Northcutt Plaza Shopping Center, the location officially moved two doors down to a larger space that features a drive-thru and expanded dining room seating. The location celebrates its grand opening today. The Rock Hill location, which is scheduled to open this fall, will also have a drive-thru.
The new location is designed to better accommodate the growing number of Chick fans in the area, whether they choose dine-in or on-the-go.
Restaurant brands of all sizes have been leaning into drive-thrus. 31% of restaurants are adopting drive-thrus in 2021 with 13% adding them for the first time, according to HT’s 2021 Restaurant Technology Study.
During reopening week, guests will experience the Southern hospitality that Chicken Salad Chick is known for with giveaways and specials.
Chicken Salad Chick To Add 40 New Locations In 2021
Chicken Salad Chick is focusing on growth.
The fast-casual restaurant chain, which opened 37 new locations in 2020, plans to open 40 new restaurants in key markets across the Southeast and Midwest regions in 2021. Looking further ahead, it aims to have 50 new restaurant openings per year by 2022. Chicken Salad Chick, which currently has 175 restaurants in 17 states, has a goal of having 500 locations open by the end of 2025.
The fast-growing eatery opened 37 restaurants in key target markets throughout 2020 including seven in Texas, five in Georgia, three in Louisiana, two in Arkansas and its first-ever location in Indiana resulting in a 22% increase in unit count year-over-year. The brand also signed nine franchise agreements to develop 23 new restaurants during the next several years in states such as North Carolina, Virginia and Louisiana.
Chicken Salad Chick is reporting $175.1 million in systemwide sales, a 17.1% increase over 2019.

Chicken Salad Restaurant Sets Opening For First Metro East Location
Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual chicken salad restaurant, is expanding its St. Louis-area footprint with the June 26 opening of its Edwardsville location, and a second Metro East store is planned for 2020.
The new Chicken Salad Chick location is at 2323 Plum St. in Edwardsville, part of Contegra Construction Co.s new $6 million IronWorks retail development. IronWorks first tenant, Sugarfire Smoke House, opened last week, and will be joined this summer by Strange Donuts and Global Brew Tap House.
Chicken Salad Chicks franchised Edwardsville location will be one of the first tenants in the new IronWorks retail development.
Chicken Salad Chicks Edwardsville store is the first in Illinois for the Auburn, Alabama-based chain, which bills itself as Southern-inspired. The chain is known for offering a dozen varieties of made-from-scratch chicken salad daily, along with salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts.
The chain entered the St. Louis-area market this year, with the opening of company-owned Chicken Salad Chick restaurants in Chesterfield in January and in Creve Coeur in April.
Lukowski said shes hiring about 40 workers for the 3,000-square-foot Edwardsville location, which will offer giveaways and specials during its grand opening June 26-June 29. The store will be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What started as an idea for making a little money to supplement the family income has become a fast-growing franchise for Stacy Brown, a self-proclaimed chicken salad connoisseur. She, with her husband Kevin, who left a career in software sales to join her in the restaurant business, founded the sassy, Southern fast-casual Chicken Salad Chick concept as a drive-thru and takeout-only operation in Auburn, Ala., in 2008.
Today the couple, along with a growing corporate team, has a lot to cluck about. After developing two successful company-owned stores in Auburn, they began franchising in 2012. Chicken Salad Chick, which currently operates 200-plus locations in 17 states, plans to open more than 50 new restaurants in 2022. The Midwest is one of the areas being targeted for development.
The company is also expanding Westward. It is set to make its debut in Colorado by the end of the year, having recently signed a franchise agreement for five locations across Northern Colorado. With an open real estate landscape and vast opportunity for market growth, Chicken Salad Chick said it is looking to further expand across Colorado by adding 15 locations during the next five years with franchise partners. I’m a fan of this place but it is often very crowded. They open at 10:30, so within that half hour is the best time to go, if possible. The drive-thru is much easier than waiting inside at lunch. Dinnertime is better for either. I’m a fan of the Carol chicken salad. I would love to know if they will make the ambrosia fruit salad again. I was only able to get it once and was told they had it to-go, but it’s not often served .
