It features a base of romaine and mixed greens, tossed with grilled chicken, tomato, cucumber, red onion, Kalamata olives, cavatappi pasta, spicy yogurt dressing, and feta. If youre gluten-free or dont want the added carbs, just ask for the Med salad without the cavatappi noodles. Bonus: You can order this in a size regular or small if you want to pair it with something else or keep your meal light.
This Del Taco Salad Really Isnt A Salad At All But It Tastes Good
Listen, you can call a taco salad a salad all you want, but at the end of the day, its basically a deconstructed taco. A delicious deconstructed taco, but a taco nonetheless. And at Del Taco, the Signature Taco Salad is the perfect example of that. Its not really a salad, but it is super yummy, and its not really healthy, but again, it tastes good.
According to the Del Taco website, the salad consists of “Seasoned beef, grated cheddar cheese, sliced avocado, seasoned black beans, pico de gallo salsa, chopped cilantro, cool sour cream, and crunchy tortilla chips are layered over our fresh romaine and iceberg lettuce blend.”

El Pollo Loco Double Chicken Avocado Salad
This salad is a significant step up from Del Taco. The Double Chicken Avocado Salad doesnt have a single weak component. A heavy double serving of chicken breast sits on top of a lettuce blend that features iceberg, romaine, cilantro, the occasional spinach leaf, cilantro, and a few other lettuce fillings. Its the first salad weve hit with an adequate mix of greenery and, if that wasnt enough to impress us, the chicken is perfectly juicy thanks to a marinade that includes paprika, citrus, pepper, and salt.
Roasted corn, a few slices of ripe avocado, cotija cheese, and pico de gallo join the juicy chicken to complete the salad which is served with your choice of creamy cilantro dressing or a Mexican vinaigrette. Ive only had the cilantro dressing, which tastes to me like a simple cilantro-based cream sauce. Its good, but I prefer El Pollo Locos avocado salsa. The inclusion of fresh avocado is great, it adds to the heartiness of the salad, ensuring a single order with no additional sides is enough to have you full and satisfied.
The Bottom Line:
Overall this is a great option, health and flavor-wise. There isnt a lot El Pollo Loco could do to make this better than it already is.

How To Make Chicken Caesar Salad
To make this salad you start with the lettuce. The original Caesar salad is made with romaine lettuce.
So if you cant buy this type of lettuce you can easily substitute this for iceberg lettuce.
Put the egg in a pot and boil for 7 minutes. When the egg is boiled drain and put in ice-cold water. This will help peel the shell of the boil.
