When using such simple ingredients, it is always best to try to find the highest quality ingredients that you can afford to maximize your health benefits.

Lemon Juice– Lemon has been used in almost all cultures to add brightness and freshness to their dishes. And it does the same here.

Garlic– Garlic is pungent and adds a hint of bitterness to the dressing.

Dijon Mustard– Dijon mustard acts as the emulsifier in this dish, which helps everything blend together without separating.

Apple Cider Vinegar – Apple cider vinegar is the vinegar of choice, not only because of its delicious fruity and sharp taste, but because it is known for its acetic acid which helps balance the bacteria in the gut.

Try to find apple cider vinegar that is organic, raw, and unfiltered to get the most benefits from this probiotic.

If you are unable to use apple cider vinegar, you may also use balsamic and red wine vinegar.

Salt– This elevates all the other ingredients in the dish. You dont need much to bring balance to the dressing.

Extra-Virgin Olive Oil– Extra-virgin olive oil contains a healthy ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fats. When purchasing extra-virgin olive oil at the store, avoid buying oil that is stored in a clear plastic container as it can become oxidized.

If you cant find a quality source of extra-virgin olive oil, avocado oil can work as well. But we love that additional flavor olive oil brings to this dish.

    How To Make Keto Caesar Dressing

    First, soft-boil the egg for 6 ½ minutes. Drain and run cold water over the egg, then peel it.

    Caesar dressing instantly takes me back to my childhood. It was the salad I ordered most often, mostly because of the creamy dressing and crunchy croutons.

    But while most vegan Caesar dressings are loaded with oil and vegan mayo, theres a simple way to make it oil-free, and its actually really tasty.

    How to Use It:

    I tend to stick with the classic Caesar salad: Romain lettuce, vegan parm, and croutons. While not the most nutritious salad, you really cant go wrong with a Caesar.

    The Recipe:

    • 1/2 Tbsp soy or vegan Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 tsp of lemon zest
    • 2 tsp capers, mashed with a bit of juice
    • 1 tsp maple syrup
    • salt and pepper to taste

    In a blender combine all the ingredients except for the lemon zest, capers, and salt and pepper. Blend until youve reached the desired thickness.

    In a bowl, empty the dressing from the blender and mix in the remaining ingredients.

    The dressing will stay good in the fridge for 4-5 days but will thicken over time, so you may need to add in more water.

Since French is my very, very favorite salad dressing, I had to come up with a sugar free version and this is IT! Its zesty, and full of flavor, but you probably already have all of the ingredients in your pantry.

    How Long Do Homemade Salad Dressings Last

    All the recipes below make about one cup of dressingenough to last for a few days of salads, but not so much that it goes bad before you get a chance to use it up. Use up the dressings with dairy in them within a week. The vinaigrettes can last two or more weeks in the fridge in an airtight container.

    Do I Need Fresh Herbs Or Dried Herbs

    Each recipe below has amounts for using fresh OR dried herbsyou can use all fresh, all dried, or any combination of the two. Just keep in mind that the dried herbs will take a while longer to impart their flavor on the dressing.     Tips For Making The Best Homemade Dressing:

    Typically this dressing is made in a blender or using a whisk and a bowl but I actually love to make homemade dressings in a shaker cup. The same kind that you can use to mix protein shakes.

    Not only do they make quick and easy work of dressing, but you can store the leftover dressing right in the bottle so you don’t have to dirty a ton of dishes.

    This dressing will separate as it sits, but you can just shake it up right before serving and it will come together again nicely.

    Store leftover dressing in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

    Lastly, if you enjoyed the flavour of this sugar free salad dressing as much as I do, you can start thinking about where else you can use it. One option is to use it as a sandwich dressing. If you do, leave the buttermilk. Once all the other ingredients are mixed, add a little bit of buttermilk at a time and stop when the consistency is right. It shouldnt be too runny if you want to enjoy it in a sandwich.
