Do Vegan Salad Dressings & Condiments Have Preservatives
Due to the long expected shelf life and the room temperature storage of many salad dressings, strong chemical preservatives such as EDTA, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are commonly used in salad dressings, despite the potential health impacts. Monosodium glutamate, artificial flavors, phosphoric acid and polysorbate 60 all also often make appearances, usually alongside artificial colors and flavors.
On the other side of the coin there are a growing number of vegan salad dressing brands that are doing away with all the chemical elements and using natural preservatives and less heavily processed ingredients.
Is Vinaigrette Dressing Vegan
After checking out the ingredients of many store-bought vinaigrette and homemade recipes, Ive found that about half of vinaigrette dressings are vegan.
