INSTRUCTIONS

The first step in making Zesty Italian Pasta Salad is to cook the pasta to al dente consistency. Because all brands of pasta vary on the suggested cook time, be sure to read the instructions on the package.

When the pasta is cooked, immediately drain and run cold water over the pasta to stop the cooking process. While the water is running, be sure to toss the pasta in the colander so the center of the pile can get cooled down as well.

Set the pasta aside and prepare the vegetables. Start by dicing the onion, celery, carrots, cucumbers, and sweet red pepper. Then using a serrated knife, cut the tomatoes in half.
