The newly opened Chicken Salad Chick brings Baton Rouge its first taste of this national chain, situated off Burbank and West Lee drives. The menu features 12 flavors of chicken salad ranging from savory to fruity and nutty. Whether you prefer your chicken salad by the scoop or in a sandwich, the choice is yours.
The new restaurant held its local grand opening Feb. 19. It has more than 145 restaurants around the nation, and the new Baton Rouge spot is the eighth location in the state.
After watching the concept thrive in the Lafayette community, we were bound to expand to the Baton Rouge area, local franchise owner Beau Nicolosi says in a press release. Now, were thrilled to continue our growth near LSUs campus, my alma mater, where Chicken Salad Chick will serve as a great addition to the community.
Its chicken salad options are far from basic. Customers can choose from spicy flavors like Buffalo Barclay and Jalapeno Holly to fruity flavors like Cranberry Kelli or Fruity Fran, which comes with Fuji apples, seedless grapes and pineapple. In addition to chicken salad, the restaurant serves sandwiches, soups, pimento cheese dips and a variety of salads including egg, grape, pasta and broccoli.

The milestone follows a robust pipeline of development, with Chicken Salad Chick already welcoming over 20 new locations in the first half of 2021 alone. Under the leadership of CEO Scott Deviney, the brand has doubled its footprint in just 3 years.
Located at 1509 Lafayette Pkwy and featuring a drive-thru, the LaGrange restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on August 11 by offering free chicken salad for a year to the first 100 guests.

The Southern-inspired, fast casual chicken salad restaurant concept has quickly adapted operations. Among its recent innovations: pop-up drive-thrus.
About one-third of the brands 155 locations have drive-thrus, and they have remained open for business, explains Tom Carr, Chicken Salad Chicks VP of Marketing. The other 100 locations have added pop-up drive-thrus. These locations have been setting up a tent outside of the restaurant where guests can drive-up, order and have the meal delivered directly to their car. The brand also added curbside pickup.
Chicken Salad Chick was able to mobilize an off-premises model quickly, thanks to its integrated digital ordering and delivery platform. How Chicken Salad Chick Is Preparing For Its New Era Of Growth
It took Chicken Salad Chick a decade to open its first 100 stores.
The next 100 restaurants popped up in less than three years.
For CEO Scott Deviney, having 200 open locations positions the fast-casual concept for its new era of growth.
Its so challenging to grow a brand from a very small number to a bigger number, said Deviney, who joined the chain in 2015 when it had 32 locations. And the statistics in franchising are so stacked against you to get to 100 units. Every time we can hit a new milestone, it means were doing something that such a few companies can attain.
The Southern-style chicken salad brand continues its growth far outside of its home base of Atlanta, into states such as Virginia, Ohio and Indiana, with an eye toward having 500 locations by 2025.
Some of the chains recent expansion has been fueled by private equity firm Brentwood Associates, which bought the concept in late 2019.
Despite the recent flurry of restaurants making forays into initial public offerings, Deviney said thats not top of mind for Chicken Salad Chick.
I wouldnt say its an end game or not an end game, he said. Were constantly monitoring the markets to see what happens. It comes down to the owner on whats the right time to exit. I dont get too hung up on it. I dont think Brentwoods ready to sell us tomorrow.
Despite surging COVID rates in much of its trade area, the chain is still seeing strong on-premise growth, he said.
