Best Stainless: Ecolunchbox Three
Easy to open and close
This stainless steel bento box has two stacking tiers plus a lidded snack pod that can keep your sweet treats from decorating your salad. It’s a smaller bento box than most of the other models we tested, but it’s big enough to hold a sandwich, side, and snackperfect for a kid’s lunchbox. This style of bento box is not leakproof, so you won’t want to use this for anything that has sauce or liquid.
Our tester filled this lunchbox with a sandwich, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, and cherry tomatoes, and used the snack pod for a serving of berries. The durable stainless construction kept the sandwich from being crushed when the box was jostled around in a bag during transport. Since its made entirely from stainless steel, this bento box can’t be used in the microwave, so it’s best suited for meals that are eaten cold or at room temperature.
The latches are easy enough for kids to use, but they latch securely, so the box will stay closed until its time for lunch. If this bento box isnt big enough, the giant version holds a whopping 8 cups of food , so its great for folks with big appetites, for carrying fluffy foods like green salads, or for sharing. This model can be run through the dishwasher for easy cleaning.

Here Are The Best Salad Containers So You Dont Have To Eat Anymore Soggy Lunches
You know how it goes
You went through the trouble to make extra salad from dinner the night before. Now youre ready to eat it for lunch at work.
And you open up your leftover container to a horrible scene of slimy greens that is straight out of a Ghostbusters movie. So much for that enjoyable lunch during your busy and stressful day at work.
Dressing your salad the night before. Most greens will wilt and lose their crisp after sitting in dressing for half a day.
But, it doesnt have to be this way. You dont have to live in a world of soggy lunch greens that ruin your one and only lunch break.
You need a great salad container that stores the dressing and greens separately. That way, when youre ready to eat your salad later on you can conveniently dress it on the spot. With this list of best salad containers, say hello to fresh salads the next day.

Are Bento Boxes Microwavable
For most of the history of bento, the food was eaten at room temperature. With the advent of refrigerators and microwaves, many of us store food for hours before eating it at low temperatures or may just want a piping-hot meal away from home. Many bento boxes are microwave-safe, though not all. Check instructions before microwaving.
Best Slim Design: Modetro Ultra Slim Leak Proof Bento Lunchbox
Slim design may limit larger foods
Dividers arent adjustable
Smaller than some adult bento boxes
While classic design bento boxes are typically multi-tiered, this modern bento box features a slim design in a single layer. It has three compartmentsone large 14-ounce section and two smaller 7-ounce sections. This is a smaller capacity than some other bento boxes we tested, but it is large enough to hold a decent sized entree, a side, and a bit of dessert. Since the compartments won’t leak into each other, you can put soup or salsa in one section without worrying that it will seep into the other foods.
Another fantastic feature is the ability to keep foods coldjust put the lunchbox body into the freezer overnight, and pack your cold lunch in the morning. The included carrying case will help further insulate your meal. To heat, you can put the tray into the microwave for warming. One drawback to the design is that its shallow height doesn’t allow for tall foods, like a multi-layered lasagna, but our tester liked the slim design for tucking into a work bag or briefcase.
All in all, it’s a sturdily built lunchbox that also looks grown up. Cleaning it is easyit’s top-rack dishwasher safe, perfect for getting rid of any greasiness or stickiness left behind by food.

Best Budget Salad Container
I used these containers to take salads to work for years. Are they perfect? No. But, theyre also a fraction of the price of the other containers on this list.
The container comes with an small cup that snaps into the bottom of the lid. Its pretty clever for storing dressings.
The main container is the smallest one on this list at 4 cups. So, you wont be fitting a huge salad.
They dont claim to be leakproof, but the lid fits fairly snug. Salads would stay fresh for 3 or so days when I used them. Not too shabby for just over $2 per container. This is great if you like to make store multiple days of lunches. They are dishwasher safe.
These arent going to look new or last forever, but theyll get the job done. Especially, for light duty use.
Clever design for storing dressings
Not entirely leakproof
Less durable and long lasting compared to more expensive containers
Best for you if: You are on a tight budget or you like to prep and store multiple salads at once.
How Were These Containers Ranked
The best salad containers were determined based on multiple data sources. The container recommendations took into account the following information:

To calculate the best salad container, the scores from the review websites, amazon review, and personal experience sources above were added together. This gave each container a final score.
The containers were then ranked based on this final score to develop the best overall and runner-up choice. Then other top ranked containers were recommended for different categories where appropriate.

How To Assemble Your Cobb Salads
Making these cobb salads really could not be easier. All you have to cook is the chicken and bacon, chop your veggies, and then assemble.
Step 1: Cook the bacon and chicken. To make the bacon, slice it into small strips and cook until crisp. Then, when the bacon is fully cooked, remove it from the pan and let it drain on paper towels.
You can then use the same pan to cook your chicken breast. Start by seasoning the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
Then cook the chicken breast in avocado or coconut oil for 4-6 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. The length of time will depend on the thickness of the chicken breasts. Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the pan to cool and thinly slice into pieces.
Step 2: While the chicken and bacon cook, it is the perfect time to prep the rest of the veggies for the salad and make the hard boiled eggs. Chop the lettuce, dice the tomatoes and cucumber, and prep the avocado.
Step 3: Once all of the components of the salad are prepared, all you have to do is assemble each individual salad in a meal prep container. I love using the Ello DuraGlass 10pc Meal Prep Set to store my salads.
Start with a base of lettuce and mixed greens, then add the veggies, hard boiled eggs, bacon and chicken. Just like that, youre done with meal prep and have a salad you can easily grab for lunch each day!

Lunchtime at work can be annoying at times. Some colleagues want to go the Italian restaurant with the unfriendly staff and their super heavy pasta dishes again.
Others want to grab something from the supermarket. But its a little expensive and not exactly satisfying either.
Yes, were in dire straights. And thats why I want to show you how to make a salad in a jar !
Of course, bringing your own lunch to work is not the newest idea in the world, but this way of doing it is healthy, time saving, money saving and really tasty.
In theory you could prepare lunch for the whole work week in about 45 minutes on a Sunday. The only thing you need are 5 jars and enough space in the refrigerator.
The idea is pretty simple: start with filling a dressing into a jar and then layer various ingredients like greens, veggies, rice and cheese on top.
Keep those jars in the fridge until you need them. Grab a bowl and empty the jar. The dressing will then cover the whole salad. Done.
Sounds easy? Well, it is! To get you a little inspired Ive put together a step-by-step tutorial plus 21 awesome recipes to try out! Alright then, lets start!
Here Is How To Make A Salad In A Jar
Layer 1: Important! First add the dressing into the jar . You can take any type of dressing. If you add the dressing later, ingredients that youd much rather stay dry might get soggy.
We dont want that. This is particularly important when you prepare glasses for several days.
Alternatively you can keep the ingredients for a quick dressing at work and just prepare right before you eat.
Here are my favourite three dressings to get you started:
Refreshing sweet and sour dressing :
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- Salt and pepper to taste
Asian Style Peanut Butter Dressing :
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup to make it vegan
- 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon
- 2-3 tbsp water
- A pinch or two of chopped or grated ginger
Layer 2: Now enter crisp ingredients such as tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, asparagus, celery, peppers, carrots into the jar.
This level is important to protect the other ingredients from getting soggy. Best are vegetables that you can imagine pickled in vinegar.
Layer 3: This level is for ingredients that should not necessarily swim in dressing, but its also not a drama if they do get wet.
Some ideas would be mushrooms, zucchini, beans, lentils, peas, corn, broccoli and so on.
Layer 4: More delicate ingredients such as hard boiled eggs and cheese can be added now.
Layer 5: Now its time to add something more substantial! From rice over pasta to more exotic ingredients like quinoa or couscous, use anything you like to seal the jar.

Nicebottles Clear Glass Beverage/sauce Bottles
The biggest drawback of most of the other products on this list? Theres only one container! If you like a little variation in your salad dressing or want to keep one at work and one at home, this set of dressing containers from Nicebottles is exactly what you need.
- Limited features
Why we love it:
These bottles are as simple as it gets, but still oddly perfect for both thick and thin dressings. The opening is wider than most, making it great for ranch, blue cheese, and other thick dressings. This same feature makes precise pouring difficult, but the long neck does help slow the flow of thin dressings.
Like the Kolder bottle, these are easy to clean with a bottle brush and made of environmentally-friendly glass. They dont include the same extra features as the Kolder, but what they lack in bling they make up for in quantity.
These bottles come in sets of six, twelve, and forty-eight .
Who its best for:
This set is great for anyone who wants to keep their homemade dressing at work and still have some in the kitchen. Or for anyone looking for extra containers to store additional dressing types, sauces, or beverages.
