Salad Dressing with Mayo and Vinegar / Easy as 1-2-3 Recipe!

Classic Ranch: whisk cup buttermilk, cup mayonnaise , 2 tablespoons each chopped parsley and chives, 1 teaspoon dried dill weed, ¼ teaspoon each kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Once you start making homemade ranch, you’ll never go back to the store-bought dressing again. SO GOOD! This is perfect for cob salads, to dip fries in, over chicken salads, and most any other salads with romaine and other leaf lettuces as the base.

Can I Eat Broccoli Raw

Yes! Raw broccoli tastes great in this salad. If you find that its too tough to chew, youre serving it to small children or you dont like the taste of raw broccoli, you can also blanch it first.

To blanch the broccoli: Boil some water in a large pot. Add the broccoli and cook for one minute. Immediately drain the broccoli and place into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. This will help the broccoli to stay crisp and retain its vibrant green hue.

Classic Vinaigrette: Whisk 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar, 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and pepper to taste. Gradually whisk in cup olive oil.     One of the most frustrating things for me when I first started the Heal Your Headache Dietwas that I could no longer find pre-made items that were safe. Every salad dressing and mayo contained some kind of citrus at the bare minimum, and the majority have MSG. A quick look at Olive Garden’s Italian dressing shows it has romano cheese and natural flavoring , while most others contain balsamic vinegars. Believe it or not, you can actually make a decent salad dressing and mayo with distilled white vinegar.

    How To Make It

    I like to first get all my ingredients together. You dont want to start mixing and then realize you never cooked your bacon, etc. So, I go about chopping up my broccoli , cooking and dicing up the bacon, cutting the onion, and measuring out my dried cranberries and sunflower seeds. Once thats done, I add all of those ingredients together in a large bowl.

    Next, I make the dressing in a blender by adding in all the ingredients and pulsing until its all blended together. If you dont have a blender or food processor, you can put it all into a mason jar with a lid and shake until combined. If its too thick, Ill add about a tablespoon of water at a time until it reaches the consistency Im looking for.

    I also taste as I go along to make sure it has enough salt and pepper. Then, I pour the dressing over the broccoli and other ingredients and mix it up. I eat what I want right then and save the leftovers for tomorrow.

    Start by mixing the mayonnaise, sugar, cider vinegar and fresh ground black pepper. Set that aside for a little bit.

    Next, cut your vegetables fairly fine so the dressing is distributed well around all the ingredients. Then cook the bacon good and crispy. Chop it fairly fine as well. I like to cook my bacon on a baking sheet at 375 degrees for about 15-17 minutes flipping the bacon halfway through the cooking process. You could even use this candied bacon recipe to add a hint of sweetness to this broccoli salad.

    Now in a large bowl, combine the broccoli, onions, bacon, dried cranberries and sliced almonds. Drizzle the dressing over the top and stir to coat. Cover and chill for about 1 hour before serving. Toss again right before serving.
