Creamy Crab And Pasta Salad

Crabmeat and pasta are tossed with a creamy seasoned sauce in this great chilled salad.

1 package uncooked pasta shells
½ cup light sour cream
½ cup light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound cooked crabmeat
½ cup diced red bell pepper
½ cup diced green bell pepper
½ cup chopped green onions


  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta shells 10 to 12 minutes, until al dente, and drain.
  • In a bowl, blend the sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, honey mustard, and dill. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large bowl, toss together the cooked pasta, sour cream mixture, crabmeat, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and green onions. Cover and chill until serving.

    The recipe below uses ½ cup of mayo with 1 pound of shredded imitation crab salad. After a lot of experimenting, Hubby has decided that shredding is the way to go when making this salad. It is easier than chopping.

    If you chop your imitation crab , you may want to cut down the mayonnaise to 1/3 of a cup. When you chop the imitation crab cut it, then cut it again.

    In the same vein, if you like a wetter salad, simply add more mayonnaise than required in this recipe.

    You could use real crab in the recipe. However real crab is not sweet like this artificial crab is. Keep that in mind.

    Look for made in the USA imitation crab .

    If you do not have green onions, scallions will work.

    How To Make This Slider Recipe

    Start by making the crab salad so that it can sit in the refrigerator for a while to let the flavors blend together. This crab salad recipe is a simple mixture of crab meat, mayonnaise, salt and pepper, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Stir it up, cover and get it in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.

    Next you can mix together mayonnaise, sriracha and honey for the sriracha mayo that gets drizzled on top of the crab salad. You definitely dont have to do the fun drizzle like we did here, all you need to do is add the sriracha mayonnaise to your slider bun when assembling.

    But if you do want to do this fun drizzle, just pour the sriracha mayo into a sandwich bag, snip a small piece of the corner off and drizzle away. Doing the drizzle makes for a nice presentation if youre serving these sliders for a party.
