Arbys Pecan Chicken Salad Review

Arbys has rolled out three new Market Fresh sandwiches: the Pecan Chicken Salad, Turkey Avocado Club and Ultimate BLT. While long time readers of Fast Food Source may expect me to go straight for the BLT, I opted instead for the Pecan Chicken Salad. And I was not disappointed.

My sandwich came filled to the rafters with chunks of moist white meat chicken, sliced apples and grapes, crunchy pecans and celery, stirred up in quite a bit of mayo and served on Arbys famously delicious Market Fresh bread with a few strips of lettuce for good measure.

I bought two sandwiches, the one pictured here is mine. My wifes sandwich was not as generously apportioned.

Nutritionally, heres where all that mayo kicks in: 840 calories with 410 from fat, 83 grams of carbs, 65mg of cholesterol and 1190mg of sodium. Not the healthiest of sandwiches, but when you eat chicken salad you cant expect healthy.

All in all, the Pecan Chicken Salad was really really tasty and made a great lunch.

BREAD :: Arbys uses a thick Honey Wheat Bread. As a vegan, we do not use honey so honestly, I say you pick whichever bread is your favorite. I used Natures Own Thick Sliced White. I also love using Daves Killer Good Seed Bread for sandwiches. That bread is just good, period.

LETTUCE :: Arbys uses green leafy lettuce. I used green leafy lettuce. I think the large green leaf from a head of romaine would also be nice.

Place the lettuce on top of the bottom piece of bread. Spread the chickpea salad over the lettuce. Top with the other piece of bread.
