1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon minced shallot
4 ounces mesclun mix

How To Make This Dressing
To make this dressing, whirl all the ingredients except the oil in a blender or food processor. Then open the blender cap plug, and gradually stream in the oil with the motor running. This ensures that the dressing emulsifies and becomes slightly creamy.
If youre not feeling like breaking out a blender or food processor, dont worry! You can still make this dressing! Either whisk it aggressively in a bowl or put the ingredients in a jar with a tightly fitting lid and shake until the dressing is creamy and cohesive.

Ingredient #: Apple Cider Vinegar
ACV to the rescue! Apple cider vinegar is alkalizing to your body, aids digestion, and has a nice, mild flavor. Sure, you can use any white or red wine vinegar here, too, but if you have it I think apple cider vinegar is the way to go here. Look for raw apple cider vinegar it will be on a room temp shelf when you buy it, refrigerate it after opening to preserve the enzymes. I like Braggs brand.

Preparation Tips – Make sure to fully whisk together the ingredients to create an emulsification. The dressing will thicken up and the mustard and oil will be fully combined.
Specialty Ingredients – For this recipe you’ll need dijon mustard, I like both the Inglehoffer traditional dijon or the Maille dijon.
Storing Tips – You can save this dressing in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. If it becomes too solidified in the refrigerator , leave it out on the counter for a few minutes before serving.

What Type Of Salads Go Best Honey Dijon Vinaigrette Dressing
My favorite combo to add this dressing to is red leaf lettuce, apples, Craisins and toasted almonds. If I would have had feta on hand, that would have been tossed over the top but, well, life didnt allow for feta at the time. Regardless, it was a delicious salad.
It also goes great with spinach based salads and even with chicken!
How Long Does The Dressing Last
Stored in the refrigerator, the dressing will keep for about two weeks. If the oil and vinegar separate in the refrigerator, just shake the jar to bring them together again. Also, if the oil solidifies, bring the dressing to room temperature, or place the jar in a bowl of warm water if you are in a hurry.

Ingredient #: Dijon Mustard
Skip the plain yellow mustard and get a high-quality dijon because its already packed with flavor. Sir Kensingtons makes the best dijon mustard Ive ever tried and theyre not even paying me to say that. Its also non-GMO verified. Its a little bit more than other mustards but definitely worth it. You can find it on Thrive Market for a good price or at most grocery stores these days. Whatever you get, just look for something that tastes amazing and isnt filled with chemicals & preservatives. Wholegrain mustard is also nice in honey mustard dressing, so if you have some on hand that you want to use up its a great option, too.

How To Make Honey Mustard Dressing
This creamy honey mustard dressing is incredibly simple to make and you probably already have everything you need to make it in your kitchen.
This better-than-storebought dressing uses real healthy ingredients so you can feel good about what you are eating. Heres what you will need:
- Mustard plays a major role. We prefer to use creamy Dijon mustard for this, but whole grain or even regular yellow mustard will work in its place.
- Honey balances the tanginess of the mustard. We love using local raw honey.
- Apple cider vinegar marries the mustard and honey and turns this into a show-stopping salad dressing. When buying apple cider vinegar, we look for the bottles with the mother still in the bottle , since they have more flavor. Other kinds of vinegar can work here , but we prefer apple cider vinegar for its flavor.
- Olive oil makes the dressing silky and luxurious. It also adds flavor.
- Fresh lemon juice is optional but highly recommended. It makes the dressing pop. I like to add the juice from one or two lemon wedges.
- Salt and fresh ground black pepper are a must.
We find that this dressing is creamy enough and does not need any additional ingredients. It amazing what happens when you whisk the mustard with olive oil and vinegar.
Just a few seconds of whisking turns the dressing into a single emulsified mixture. For a thicker or even creamier dressing whisk in a little sour cream or plain yogurt.
