Eggs are a good source of protein and efficient calorie burners .
Theyre capable of providing a lot of energy throughout the day. Thats why theyre usually added as a part of a healthy diet.
If youre not familiar with the nutritional anatomy of the egg, you should know that the white part is lean protein, while the yellow egg yolk is filled with healthy nutrients.
One medium hard-boiled egg weighs about 44 grams , provides around 5.5 g of protein, or about 1012% of an adults daily recommended intake.
Eggs also provide important vitamins and minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, folate, choline, vitamin A, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, and various antioxidants.
Although this boiled egg diet is fast and effective for weight loss, you need to consume a lot of fresh low-carb vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and beans. And most importantly to reduce the calorie intake, cut back on high-calorie desserts, fast food, fizzy drinks, and sweets.

Want To Lose Weight Try Eating Only Salad Every Day
Let’s face it: losing weight isn’t easy for the majority of people, according to U.S. News & World Report. For one, foods that are bad for us taste good, such as processed sugar, processed carbs, and high-fat foods. It doesn’t help that these foods are widely available in seconds at a variety of fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and Burger King, either.
But that doesn’t mean losing weight is impossible, especially if you’re mindful of what you’re eating on a day-to-day basis. And since salads are by nature heavy on the veg, eating a lot of them might be a great way to shed unwanted pounds, according to Kristen Carli, as registered dietician. “Because this nutrient-dense balanced meal also happens to be lower in calories, it is likely you will also see weight loss,” she revealed. “Being at a calorie deficit will lead to weight loss, but since you are eating vegetable-packed meal, you will likely not be lacking any necessary vitamins and minerals.” That certainly sounds like the right way to do it!

How To Boil Eggs For Egg Salad
You can make your hard boiled eggs any way you like. I usually just buy already boiled eggs at the grocery store. That way I can enjoy this healthy egg salad at a moments notice. Here are some great boiling options, though. With all options, its important to immerse the eggs in a bath of ice water immediately after cooking to stop the cooking process. Leave in ice bath for about 15 minutes to chill. Then, peel and chop the eggs.
- Air fryer method. Set the temp to 250ºF and cooked eggs for 16 minutes.
- Stove top method. Fill enough water in a large pot that will cover the eggs by 1-inch, once added. Bring water to a boil and then carefully place eggs in the hot water. Boil the eggs for 30 seconds, place the lid on the pot and reduce heat to low. Cook eggs on a low simmer for 12 minutes.
- Instant Pot method. Place eggs on a trivet, add 1 cup of water and select Pressure Cook for 5 minutes, then vent immediately.
- Oven method. Bake eggs for 25 minutes at 325°F.

Are There Side Effects Of Eating Mostly Boiled Eggs
Is the hard-boiled egg diet safe and effective for weight loss?
The low-calorie nature of the egg diet plan restricts many carbs and high-fiber foods, so you may miss the mark on your daily fiber intake if youre not careful.
Men 50 and under should get at least 38 grams of fiber and women should get at least 25g of fiber.
Low Fiber levels mean colon cancer, unhealthy cholesterol levels, constipation, and diverticulosis.
Additionally, forgetting to maintain a nutrition balance in this restrictive diet means youre filling up on a lot of cholesterol in eggs, which, as a recent study shows can increase your risk of heart disease.
Another study has shown that high levels of daily egg consumption are associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes.
Its always worthwhile to speak to a registered dietitian or doctor to discuss the effect on your overall health and if its an effective weight loss plan given your nutritional needs.

- Hard boiled eggs. Youll need 6 large eggs for this recipe. Well talk more about options for boiling the eggs below. Organic free range eggs are best!
- Greek yogurt or mayo. Use either one, depending on your preference. Sometimes I even use a combination of the two! In my opinion, adding in even just a tablespoon or two of mayonnaise really adds to the flavor of the salad.
- Fresh dill. Dill is one of my favorite herbs and it works so well in this salad. If you dont have dill available, try using fresh parsley.
- Green onion. Adds a delicious crunch to the otherwise very creamy egg salad. I like to use green onion here because it has a more mild flavor than other onion varieties.
- Seasonings. A mix of onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper is the perfect blend of seasonings. Feel free to add other favorites too smoked paprika would be tasty!

Eat Salad For Leanness
Packed with fiber, vitamins and antioxidants, salad is a perfect diet food. It’s low in calories and can taste amazing you just have to use the right ingredients. Leafy or iceberg lettuce, cabbage, kale, spinach, corn and tomatoes are all a great choice. Pair them with protein to stay full longer and boost your metabolism.
Going on a salad diet comes with its challenges, though. First of all, it can get boring in the long run. That’s why it’s important to mix and match ingredients, use herbs and spices and experiment with different recipes.
Second, eating just salad and protein may lead to nutrient deficiencies. Again, variety is the key. It’s one thing to eat tuna salad at every meal and another thing to plan your meals ahead and add a twist to your favorite dishes.
For example, you can prepare a delicious tuna salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, feta cheese, lettuce, red cabbage, onion, peppers, eggs, olive oil and vinegar. Add herbs like basil, oregano and parsley, plus a pinch of black pepper or chili powder. This dish provides more flavor and nutrition compared to classic tuna salad recipes.

Salad Mistakes To Avoid
The many potential health benefits of adding a salad to your daily diet can be quickly counteracted with the addition of certain cooked ingredients, and commercially produced additives.
Among the worst offenders are salad dressings, as theyre often loaded with high fructose corn syrup for flavor and processed trans fats to prolong shelf life. Low-fat dressings usually have increased sugar levels, with fructose added to compensate for the loss of flavor.
As excess fructose in your diet drives insulin and leptin resistance, major contributors to diabetes and other chronic diseases, its a good idea to avoid these added sugars when possible.
Make your own dressings instead, with a healthy oil, herbs and lemon or vinegar for a healthful condimentthat will work with your salad, not against it. The healthy fats found in olive oil actually assist the breakdown and absorption of nutrients. Just dont get carried away.
Foodal recommends Salad for Dinner: Complete Meals for All Seasons
Another common mistake is the addition of cooked or processed foods to a salad. Ingredients such as deli meats full-fat cheeses, croutons, and salted or candied nuts all add flavor and texture, but they come with a price tag of calories, unhealthy fats and extra sugar.
Use these ingredients sparingly to get the most out of your salads nutritional potential.
