COBB COUNTY, GA Whether you’re heading out for some tacos, barbecue, fried chicken or American cuisine, Cobb County has an array of dining options for you. And if you want to know which restaurants scored well on their health inspections and which ones didn’t look no further.

Nearly 50 Cobb County restaurants and food-service operations, including Cobb County School District campuses, were inspected in the last week, with 38 of those entities receiving As.

Nine of them received grades of B, and one received a grade of C: Stilesboro Biscuits in Kennesaw. Additionally, Bandido Wings in Marietta received an unacceptable score.

Chicken Salad Chick, an Auburn, Alabama-based fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, today announced the purchase of 11 existing locations in Georgia from the brands largest franchise owner, Origin Development Group. Two of those locations are in Buckhead and Vinings.

Founded by Darren DeVore and Lauren Fernandez, Origin established its footprint across Atlanta, Augusta and Athens. Chicken Salad Chicks corporate acquisition of these restaurants brings the company-owned unit count to 32, and it highlights the brands opportunity in Atlanta and continued investment in expanding its footprint throughout the Southeast and beyond.

Chicken Salad Chick plans to open 40 additional locations in 2019, which will be a mix of company and franchisee owned.

Origin Development Group founders Darren and Lauren are truly valued growth partners and have been passionate ambassadors of our brand, Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney said in a news release. Atlanta is an important market for us, and in just two and a half years, Origin substantially increased our presence in the area, while successfully managing operations. Of the 66 Cobb restaurants inspected since Jan. 27 the last time Patch posted a restaurant roundup for the area a total of 45 restaurants received grades of A and 21 received grades of B. None received a grade of C or below.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

JOHNS CREEK, GA Chicken Salad Chick is bringing its fresh food to the Johns Creek and Suwanee communities. The newest Chicken Salad Chick restaurant will mark the brand’s second opening this summer in the Atlanta metro-area.

The grand opening of the new restaurant, located in Johns Creek Town Center at 3630 Peachtree Pkwy, will take place on Tuesday, with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. In addition, on Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15, Chicken Salad Chick will host two friends and family events benefiting the food pantry at North Fulton Community Charities. Johns Creek residents interested in attending one of these philanthropic events can visit here to learn more.

With more than 15 locations across the metro-area including Alpharetta, Buckhead, Cumming, Peachtree City, Roswell and Vinings Chicken Salad Chick continues to rapidly expand throughout the state. The company recently opened in Loganville in June, and the Johns Creek location will serve as the brand’s 31st restaurant in Georgia.
