The one thing to remember when you make this dressing is make sure to use boiling water.

Ive never been a fan of soaking my cashews. I know so many recipes call for it, but it just seems like an unnecessary extra step. To avoid that in this recipe, we use boiling water to combine all our ingredients, and after it rests for two minutes, any blender will be able to handle it.

This is a small-batch recipe so I recommend using a small blender, but really you can use anything!

Product Review: Trader Joes Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing

Welcome to my latest dressing obsession. Seriously, I cant get enough of this stuff!

This rave review is coming from a girl who rarely purchases bottled dressing, and who isnt even vegan . My normal go-to salad dressing is a small drizzle of good extra virgin olive oil, and a drizzle of good balsamic vinegar over all of the veggies grab and go, and ready for lunch. Its a simple and delicious combination that Ive been doing almost daily for many years, but suddenly, I was in the mood to switch it up.

My garden has been overflowing with the most beautiful summer produce tomatoes and peppers abound! While I love a simply dressed tomato , and Ive been inhaling tomato toast all summer long, I was craving some new flavors. Something fun. Something Caesar. Enter this Trader Joes Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing.

This dressing is super flavorful packed with umami and almost a brininess that I absolutely cant get enough of. Its much lighter than a traditional Caesar dressing, coming in at only 70 calories per 2 tbsp serving, compared to 150 calories per serving of traditional Caesar dressings in other brands. I love that this is a healthier alternative to the normal Caesar, because when Im eating a salad, I want to keep it light Im never here for excess calories from heavy dressings.

This post was in no way sponsored by Trader Joes or Trader Joes Vegan Caesar Salad Dressing. I buy this dressing with my own money, and these are all words from a fan!

What Goes In Trader Joes Green Goddess Dressing

Trader Joe

Were going to start with avocados. This is going to be our base for the creamy dressing. From there, we will add some lemon juice and vinegar to get it that acidic base it needs.

Next up, well add some herbs and spices for flavoring, and thin it out with a bit of water until we get it to the right consistency.

Im a big fan of keeping recipes simple, with a short ingredient list. Lets be honest we can pin fancy photos and recipes all day long, but those dont end up being the ones we make.

We make the recipes with short ingredient lists, short cook times, and good flavor. Amiright?

Kefir is a thick, dairy drink thats loaded with probiotics. Add in organic sunflower oil, a splash of organic white and red vinegars, fresh dill, and plenty of organic cucumber purée and youve got a creamy dressing thats surprisingly refreshing. A two tablespoon serving has no saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, or added sugar. In total, it has just 2 grams of sugar from the kefir itself, making it a bargain of health and flavor. Pour it on anything you normally use ranch dressing on.

Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry

As far as easy, filling dinners go, this vegan stir fry takes the cake. Its loaded with cauliflower rice, peas, red pepper, spring onions, and grilled corn, and seasoned with tamari, sesame oil, and ginger. Its filling on its own, but if you want to beef it up, try adding baked tempeh or sautéed carrots.

Organic Toasted Sesame Dressing $3

Last but not least is this sturdy dressing. The toasted sesame flavor is surely the central theme, but its rounded out with soy sauce for added depth and umami. It does contain both eggs and wheat, so if you avoid those, this dressing isnt for you and a two tablespoon serving contains 13 grams of fat and 3 grams of sugar from brown sugar and molasses. Still, for a soy-sauce rich product, it only has 200 mg of sodium, and we think of it as more of a dipping sauce or something luxurious to drizzle over roasted veggies, rather than a true salad dressing.

Why Ive Opted Not To Use Cashew Butter In This Trader Joes Copycat Recipe

I know Trader Joes uses cashew butter in their version, but I opted to use cashews in this recipe. This is because of cost and practicality.

I dont want you running out and buying a whole bunch of cashew butter just to use 2 tbsp. Its not practical. So for this, buy a bunch of cashews, store what you wont use in your freezer and use just a bit for this recipe.

So What Is In The Trader Joes Spicy Cashew Butter Dressing

I did a quick look at the ingredients list of this Trader Joes item, and as you can see from my V blurry photo, it had all your usual suspects.

The ingredients breakdown was: water, cashew butter, lime juice, ginger puree, organic coconut aminos, cilantro, red chili paste, maple syrup, sea salt, xantham gum and crushed red pepper.

All of this seemed more than manageable, with a few adjustments to make the ingredients more approachable. My recipe uses a few ingredient swaps that are easier to find in grocery stores, but other than that it was all about find the right ratios to make the perfect, creamy salad dressing.

Green Goddess Salad Dressing $4

Classic green goddess dressing is an old-school, mayo-based favorite with big herby flavor and a sunny, citrusy edge. This version gets even more zip from a dash of apple cider vinegar, garlic, and green onions. And its creamy texture comes from its avocado base. With no added sugars and healthy fats from extra-virgin olive oil and avocado, this low-carb dressing is pretty much the gold standard for store-bought dressings. Drizzle it with abandon! Its equally terrific on pasta, roasted veggies, and rotisserie chicken as it is on salad.

Trader joe’s cilantro dressing as marinade. This dressing is also vegan. This is really good on salads of course, like a trader joes cruciferous crunch with grilled chicken recipe, but also can be used as a dipping sauce or marinade. I wasnt sure that it would be, because it seemed like an odd combo of flavors, but it went perfectly with a salad .

My favorite trader joe’s salad dressings. This lime cilantro dressing is whipped up in minutes in your blender for a homemade, quick addition to your dinner. Here are some of my favorites under 50 calories per 2 tbsp.

Add cilantro and continue to blend until the cilantro has broken down but still maintains some of its texture. Its one of my most favorite salads! This crisp, cool dressing begins with a reduced fat mayonnaise base, and gets both its bright color and vibrant flavor from loads of fresh cilantro.

Add in the carrots, bell peppers, cashews, and green onions. 2 reviews for trader joes cilantro salad dressing reviews. Blend them until they are completely combined.

Remove from heat, drizzle with remaining dressing, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve. Rated 5 out of 5. According to the trader joe’s website:

Slowly stream the oil in and blend. The lime/cilantro/tomato marinade on this salmon is very tasty. I let the thighs cook without touching or moving them so they get a really nice sear .

Either you love it or you hate it, some people will say it tastes like soap.

Why You’ll Love It

Trader Joe

The ingredient list for this particular Trader Joe’s salad dressing is simple, so I knew creating a homemade version would be easy. But why create a homemade version? Well, there are a few good reasons…

  • Most people don’t live near a Trader Joe’s, and I think everyone should have a chance to try this deliciousness!
  • Trader Joe’s is known for constantly rotating their products. Even though this line of refrigerated salad dressings is very popular, you never know when it might disappear.
  • If your household uses a lot of this dressing , that also means going through a lot of plastic bottles. Enough said.
  • This homemade turmeric dressing tastes pretty much identical to the Trader Joe’s version!

The best dressing for summer salads
