How To Make Keto Salad Dressing Lemon Poppy Seed

Sugar Free Peach Vinaigrette

If youre making keto salad dressing for the first time, dont worry! Its super-simple and so worth the small amount of effort it takes to make your own. Grab the blender out of the cabinet and lets get to work.

First, get out all the ingredients and measuring utensils and place them around the blender container. Then set the poppyseeds to the side. Now measure in all the other ingredients into the blender.

Blend it all together on high for 30-40 seconds or until smooth and a light lemony color. This is called emusifying the dressing, which is just a fancy way of saying youre completely blending ingredients that dont usually mix together. In this case its the oil, vinegar, and mustard.

After the emulsion is complete, add in the poppy seeds and pulse the blender a few times to just to distribute them.

Last but not least, pour the dressing into a jar at least 6 ounces, and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight to mix the flavors.

Before you use the dressing, shake it up in the jar each time. Often, the poppy seeds will settle to the bottom or the oil may try to separate. Simply shake it up and alls good to go. Dress your salad and eat up!

But, you must remember, whatever you eat, make sure you have at least one bowl of salad with it.

I made this in a rush after realizing the only Ranch dressing I had in the fridge was store bought. I wanted less carbs per serving plus better ingredients so I quickly made this. I had to make a couple of tweaks. I didnât have any dijon mustard so I substituted it with 1/4 tsp of dry mustard. Instead of water, I used a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk to thin it out some. This was mainly because I confused this recipe with another Iâd seen on the internet. It worked out fine though and tastes awesome! This recipe is very easy to make and can be served immediately if your mayo has already been refrigerated. I loved it! Thank you!!

How To Juice A Lemon With A Fork

To use a fork to juice a lemon can be a bit messy, but it works! Place a bowl on your work surface to catch the juice. Then stick the fork in the center pulp side of the half lemon. With one hand, hold the fork and with the other, the lemon half.

Squeeze tightly and move the fork around the inside of the lemon so the juice runs in your prepared bowl. Next, move the fork all around the inside of the lemon, still squeezing with the other hand to get every bit of juice.

Flavour Variations For Sugar Free Salad Dressing

Once you have done the base sauce, it is time to do the flavouring. If you are not keen on fresh garlic you can omit it. That being said, I recommend you to keep the onion powder as it lends a lovely savoury undertone. Next, when it comes to herbs this is where you can make your mark. For instance, some people dont like the perfumed smell and flavour of dill and tend to avoid it. If you are one of these people, simply leave out the dill, and add some freshly chopped chives instead. The subtle onion flavour of chives is an excellent addition to the sugar free salad dressing.

You can also use any other herbs that you like to consume regularly. Watercress, for example, is a great addition if you are using the dressing in a chicken salad or the like. Cress and chives are great if you are using the dressing for a potato salad.

How To Store Homemade Salad Dressing

I recommend storing your homemade dressing in a glass container in the refrigerator. I like to use mason jars! One thing to note: homemade dressings made with olive oil tend to harden and separate when stored in the fridge. This is completely normal! Take the dressing out of the fridge about 20 minutes before using so it can come to room temperature and then give it a quick shake to recombine the ingredients.

While cheaper brands of Italian vinaigrette may use palm oil and refined white sugar, most high-quality brands use sunflower oil and unrefined cane sugar, both of which are vegan-friendly.

Product Review: Walden Farms Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

Product: Walden Farms Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing $4.99+

You knowup until I started on my new 70/30 Clean Eating plan my sports nutritionist has put me onI never would have thought twice about enjoying the basically guilt-free products put out by Walden Farms. I meanIve had quite a few salad dressings from their extensive line-up that I have quite enjoyed. And, a couple weeks ago, a bottle of their Balsamic Salad Dressing just happened to wind up on Managers Special at my local grocery store. I hadnt tried this flavor yetso I figured Id give it a shot. If I didnt like it, I wasnt out much thanks to the reduced price.

SoI initially was introduced to Walden Farms by Rocco DiSpirito in his Now Eat This cookbooks. He uses the calorie free ketchup in a few recipes as one of the ingredients. I was intrigued. I had seen a few of these Walden Farms products lurking at numerous grocery stores in my areasoone day I decided to try one of the salad dressings. Andit really wasnt bad at all. For the recordI have never tried the ketchup.

Anywaya few salad dressings laterhere I was with one of my favorite dressings to have when out at a restaurant. Mostly because its safe. Any vinaigrette is normally a safe bet when it comes to dressing up a salad. And Ive always loved the flavor of a good Balsamic Vinaigrette.

I put the 2 tablespoon serving size over my salad and dove in.

Its too bad. It really is.
