    Cook’s Tips And Recipe Variations:

    • Add cooked, diced chicken or cooked shrimp to the salad for an even heartier dish.
    • Try other fresh herbs, such as chopped parsley or oregano.
    • Any cheese will work! Diced cheddar or little cubes of Monterey Jack would be great substitutes for the mozzarella.
    • My boys don’t love olives, so I sometimes omit the olives and replace them with an equal amount of diced cucumber, diced celery or frozen peas .
    • Any short pasta shape will work. For instance, you can substitute with macaroni, penne or bowtie in lieu of the rotini.
    • I like Wish-Bone Creamy Italian dressing for this recipe, but any similar prepared dressing will work.
    • Try using a bottle of Ranch dressing in lieu of the Creamy Italian dressing.

Garden Veggie Pasta Salad This Classic Macaroni Salad With A Mayonnaise And Vinegar Based Dressing Is Loaded With Fresh Vegetables And Herbs Perfect For Summer Potlucks And Barbecues

Creamy Lemon Mayo Pasta Salad Recipe

Everyone needs a classic pasta salad recipe in their repertoire, and this Garden Veggie Pasta Salad is my absolute favorite macaroni salad of all time!

It has the classic mayonnaise based dressing, but all of the diced fresh vegetables and herbs give it a unique and delicious flavor thats a step up from the usual pasta salad.

My husband, who is something of a pasta salad connoisseur, agrees that this garden veggie version is one of the best. Plus, its a great way to use up odds and ends of veggies, or a surplus from your garden.

Which makes it the perfect pasta salad to bring along to any neighborhood barbecue or summer time celebration. Just be prepared to get lots of request for the recipe.

The great thing about this salad is that you can totally change up the veggies to use what you have on hand. Any color of bell pepper will work, or you could try a poblano in place of the jalapeno .

I definitely recommend using some crunchy veggies, like carrots, celery and peppers, but things like cucumber are also a great addition. And feel free to mix up the herbs to suit your tastes as well. Although I really am partial to including at least some fresh dill.

This salad tastes better if you can mix it up the day before, or at least several hours ahead of time. Just make sure you re-season and add some extra mayo before serving. The pasta really soaks everything up, and it can lose some of its flavor and moisture as it sits.

    Preparation And Storage Tips:

    • Make Ahead: You can prepare this salad up to 24 hours in advance. Save some extra dressing and add more just before serving, if necessary.
    • While it’s best enjoyed within 24 hours, the creamy pasta salad will stay fresh in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
    • I do not recommend freezing the pasta salad, since the vegetables and pasta will have a mushy texture when thawed.

Ingredients For Creamy Shrimp Pasta Salad

This Creamy Shrimp Pasta Salad has easy to find ingredients, and you can also use any veggies you have in hand. To make it vegan, leave the shrimp out, add a small can of chickpeas, and replace yogurt and mayo with vegan yogurt and vegan mayo.

Pasta I used gnocchi pasta shells, you can use any short pasta like macaroni, medium shells, ditalini, or farfalle. The pasta should be cooked and cooled for this cold salad.

Shrimp I used peeled fresh shrimp and cooked them with a little butter, garlic, and paprika. However, you can use cooked prawns. If you dont like shrimp, replace it with some grilled chicken or with a can of chickpeas for a vegan option.

Veggies This salad includes some cucumber, cherry tomatoes, green bell pepper, and red onions. I used the vegetables I had in hand. Alternatively, you can use carrots, sweet peppers, broccoli, summer squash, steamed green beans, regular tomatoes, or shredded cabbage.

A Mediterranean twist to the classic mayo pasta salad, it is easy and colorful and goes well with your grilled meat and tasty and …. I might be a little biased here but this is REALLY DELICIOUS. This pasta salad has a very creamy Italian dressing so dare I say it is a simple creamy Italian pasta salad recipe. Make this for dinner tonight and enjoy leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Pasta salad was not that popular when I was growing up in Egypt, now it is actually on every restaurant’s menu. To my surprise I was never a fan of mayonnaise, and still am not that kind of girl who spreads mayo on every sandwich as I prefer tahini and baba ghanoush more, but I do really enjoy this recipe.

My heart has nothing but love for the dressings made with mayo . Of course I try to go easy consuming mayo and most of the time using the light ones, but I’ve never actually tried making my own yet.

We were in that Italian restaurant lately and I had a very delicious salad but after a couple of bites, I sensed something in there ….. VODKA it was!!! I really hate these kinds of situations, when you start enjoying something just to discover it has alcohol or pork, things that we are not allowed to consume.. how frustrating is that.

I hope you’ll like the recipe and try it soon… Enjoy!!

Creamy Pasta Salad A Pot Luck Favorite

If you haven’t tried Creamy Pasta Salad you are in for a treat! Creamy Pasta Salad is loaded with our favorite ingredients, bacon, green onions, cheese and of course pasta in a delicious creamy sauce. I suppose that’s why we call it Creamy Pasta Salad! haha

This super simple recipe is a standard recipe at family pot luck socials or even a weekend BBQ in the backyard. Tried, Tested and True even those little ones can help make this salad, with a little help of course.

When we BBQ we enjoy only the best and our favorite recipes, we have so many that it’s fun to make small batches so we can enjoy them all. That’s why this small recipe is ideal using only 8oz of pasta. You can of course use any shape of pasta you wish, we prefer the double curl in these Cellentani Pasta.

With a recipe as easy as this one you can cook the pasta on the Stove, but let me tell you that cooking pasta in the Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker is so much better! The pasta can be infused with flavor and absorb the liquid when cooked with the Instant Pot which I love.

That’s why I love to cook with Chicken Broth. All that yummy broth is absorbed into the noodles for extra flavor which really sets it apart from other pasta recipes.

Of course there are variations to making a Creamy Pasta Salad which is also fun. This recipe reminds me of a Loaded Potato Salad, which is another favorite of ours and also very simple to make too. Really you can’t go wrong on either of these recipes.

    • Feel free to swap our your favorite ingredients black olives, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, or even peppadew peppers would be nice additions.

    The Best Creamy Pasta Salad

Today is an exciting day, because I happen to be sharing the best creamy pasta salad on the planet. No really, it is. Trust me, Im not proclaiming this lightly, as I fancy myself a sort of aficionado when it comes to pasta salad. And while I love them all , when it comes to straight-forward, old-fashioned backyard BBQ creamy pasta salads, this is the one I reach to time and time again.

I wish I could take credit for this pasta flawlessness, but I cant. The base recipe is adapted from the Junior League of Kansas City cookbook, Beyond Parsley. A tried-and-true cookbook serving up simple, elevated recipes that have become contents in my cooking repertoire.

I first tried, no wait, inhaled this very pasta salad many years ago at a bridal shower some of my Moms friends graciously hosted for me, and havent been able to stop making it since. My first bite was one of those rare moments where I had absolutely no clue what flavors were making me weak in the knees and wanting more. I mean, Ive had pasta salads before, hundreds of them actually, but this? This was different.

You know what the secret is?

    Beef bouillon.

Yup, the concentrated beef flavor from a jar that livens up soups, stews and casseroles. Not being able to detect it makes sense now, it adds an element of savoriness, an unami essence if you will, thats near impossible to decipher.

What Else Can I Add In

Pasta salad makes a great foundation for lots of additional flavors. You can even turn a BLT sandwich into a BLT pasta salad! Here are some flavor variations for this salad.

    • Meat- diced chicken or turkey
    • More veggies- olives, tomatoes, etc.
    • Cheese- feta, mozzarella, etc.
    • Spices- cumin, cayenne, etc.
